Friendsgiving Potluck Template & Sign-Up Sheet
Everything for a Friendsgiving where the turkey shows up, the sides are covered, and nobody brings their fifth pie by accident.
Typical size
8–16 friends
How much food
Plan one main per 8–10 people, two or three sides per main, and a dessert for every four guests. Run the numbers.
The sign-up sheet
A balanced starting point — adjust to taste, then let guests claim what they'll bring from one link.
The main event
- Roast turkey (or a turkey breast for a smaller group)
- A vegetarian centerpiece — stuffed squash or a mushroom wellington
- Spiral ham, if the turkey's taken
- A rotisserie backup, no shame
Sides (the heart of Friendsgiving)
- Mashed potatoes + gravy
- Stuffing or dressing
- Green bean casserole
- Roasted vegetables
- Mac and cheese
- Dinner rolls
Something fresh
- A crisp green salad
- Cranberry sauce — someone, please
- A grain or kale salad
- Pickles and olives
Desserts
- Pumpkin pie
- Apple pie or crisp
- Pecan pie
- A non-pie option — brownies or cookies
Drinks
- A batch cocktail or mulled cider
- Wine, red and white
- Sparkling water and soda
- Coffee for after
The unglamorous essentials
- Ice
- Plates, cups, napkins
- Serving spoons
- To-go containers for leftovers
Tips for a smooth friendsgiving
- Assign the turkey first — everything else plans around it.
- Cap the pies. Three desserts for twelve people is plenty; put a number on the dessert slots.
- Ask about allergies on the sign-up so the one nut-free dessert gets labeled.
- Coordinate who needs oven time, so reheating isn't a 6 p.m. traffic jam.
